ICP Aircraft
ICP Aircraft
FLY1 is proud exclusive dealer of aircraft from the Italian aircraft manufacturer I.C.P. Aviazione in Norway. We can also mediate purchases from Sweden, Denmark and Finland. ICP is best known for its light sport aircraft Bingo and Savannah, of which over 3000 aircraft have been sold worldwide. The Savannah is well known for being a stable, safe and fun aircraft.

The history of ICP

ICP was founded in 1980 as a family business, whose main activity was the production of wiring for the electrical appliance and electromechanical sector. Eight years later they expanded their activity into aviation, by first importing Chickinox ultralight aircraft and the year after, ICP started marketing and sales of ultralight aircraft in aluminium alloy produced by Zenair.

In 1990 ICP started producing the Zenair aircraft in Italy. From 1996, ICP began to design and produce its own aircraft, now known worldwide for their high safety standards.

Originally based in Piovà Massaia (ICP is an acronym for Industry Components Piovà), ICP in 2009 inaugurated their new headquarters in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, where they also have their own 750 m airfield right outside of their factory.

Advanced technology

The ICP factory houses advanced CNC-machines, laser cutters, punching machines and other high tech machinery, which allow them to produce most of the parts for their aircraft in house. The precise machinery convert raw materials, like aluminium alloy sheets and blocks, into parts that fit exactly together, to form their sturdy aircraft models. All holes for rivets are cut out with precision in advance, which makes building an ICP aircraft from kit a much easier task, even for an amateur, than many other models for self-builders. It also ensures that it is easy to get spare parts to repair damage to an ICP aircraft.

Aircraft models

The current line-up of ICP aircraft models in production is the Savannah SR and Ventura 2 (light sport), and the 4 seated Ventura 4 (experimental). The certification of a 3 seat CS-23 model is in progress. Both the Savannah and the Ventura are also available as tail-draggers.

We expect the Ventura to become at least as popular as the Savannah in the time to come.

Common to all ICP aircraft is that they are constructed in aluminium alloy and that high emphasis is placed on STOL properties. This makes ICP aircraft well suited for operation on short airfields. ICP aircraft are also equipped with flaperons, meaning that flaps and ailerons are combined into one single rudder on each wing. This contributes to ICP aircraft being easily controllable even in unstable conditions. For example, the Savannah SR has a demonstrated crosswind tolerance of 26 knots.

Ready to fly or build from kit?

The light sport aircraft models (Savannah SR and Ventura 2) are delivered both as kits and “ready to fly”. The four-seater Ventura 4 is only available as a kit, since this model must be registered as Experimental, where it is required that the builder does at least 51% of the construction.
