E-Props has received very good feedback on its unique carbon/titanium propellers. Several customers report both a significant increase in cruise speed and better climbing characteristics after switching to propellers from E-Props. Due to the low weight and well-balanced blades, they also produce very little vibration. We ourselves have very good experiences with the Durandal 3-blade propeller for the ICP Savannah S and Flight Design CTSW.
An important choice
The choice of propeller has a lot to say about the characteristics of the aircraft. It should ideally provide a good combination of high power at takeoff and climb, while at the same time providing the most efficient and economical propulsion for the aircraft in cruise.
With an in-flight variable pitch (constant speed) propeller, like the E-Props Glorieuse, you can get the most out of the engine in all configurations.
Traditionally, pitch on propellers that are only adjustable on the ground has often had to be set as a compromise between takeoff/climb and cruise characteristics. With Durandal (for engines with clockwise rotation) and Excalibur (counter-clockwise rotation), E-Props has succeeded in designing an on ground adjustable propeller that gives good effect both at takeoff and cruise. E-Props calls this the “ESR effect“. At the same time, the propeller is very light and, with proper setting and maintenance, produces little vibration.
Find the right propeller for your aircraft
A propeller must both be adapted to the aircraft it is to be used on and the engine that drives it. Below you will find information and links that can help you find the right propeller for your aircraft. Recommended models
E-Props has several tools on its website to choose which type of propeller you should use on your aircraft.
The easiest is to enter the aircraft model in the search field, select the correct model in the hit list, select which engine your aircraft has, and then you get an overview of which propeller types are recommended for your aircraft.
It is also possible to find the right propeller by selecting aircraft type or by speed and engine.
Diameter propeller, spinner and spacer
On the E-Props website you will also find information on how to calculate the correct propeller diameter, size of spinner and thickness of spacer , if you need it. You will also find a lot of other good information about propellers and accessories on the E-Props website.
Special applications
E-Props also makes propellers that are designed to be used for specific purposes and some specific aircraft models, such as for towing gliders. E-Props also supplies propellers for paramotors. Please contact directly with one of us if you want to order one of these.
More arguments for choosing E-Props?
E-Props has a 6 month money back guarantee if you have purchased one of their aircraft or sports airplane propellers and are not satisfied with the result (certain conditions apply to the warranty). Also read E-Props’ extensive FAQ or read what others write after switching to an E-Props propeller.
Cleaning is important
As with all propellers, it is important to keep the blades of E-Props propellers clean as well. This gives the best performance at all times and ensures that the propeller gets good grip during acceleration. In addition to regular cleaning of the propeller, it may also be a good idea to invest in neoprene covers for the blades to protect them a little extra against damage while the aircraft is on the ground or in the hangar.
